Dan Cristian Alexandrescu
Founder of Websem · AEO/GEO research

Dan Cristian Alexandrescu runs Websem, the agency he founded in 2013 and has operated through Supremium Genesis S.R.L. since 2017. He entered digital marketing in 2010 as a freelancer, then as a developer, before building his own firm.
Since 2024 he has worked on generative engine optimisation — AEO and GEO — and on measuring traffic arriving from AI assistants. He publishes original research on how language models recommend Romanian brands, releasing open datasets on Zenodo, Kaggle and Hugging Face, and leads aeo-geo.ro, a research project offering free tooling and a Romanian-language AEO glossary.
He holds a master's degree in community justice administration from the University of Bucharest.

What I work on
He has worked on generative engine optimisation since 2024, with results documented publicly from June 2025 — among the first material on the subject published in Romanian.
The work splits three ways: measuring what generative engines actually answer about a market, building the sites they can extract and cite, and publishing the protocol so the figures can be reproduced or disputed by someone else. That last part is the one that matters: a figure without a published method is a claim, not a measurement.
